The director of the Querétaro State Mobility Agency (AMEQ), Gerardo Cuanalo Santos, acknowledged that the Mobility Law does not contemplate the regulation of Uber Moto in Querétaro.
This is because the company has approached the state agency to seek regulation, but there is no possibility due to the lack of a law on the matter.
“We have already contacted the company and told them that the law itself does not stipulate motorcycle travel. There is already a discussion table to determine what could happen. This is a lack of regulation that is not contemplated.”
It is worth mentioning that this category of Uber Moto consists of offering faster rides to users, a service that is already available in Querétaro.
Despite the lack of regulation for this type of mobility service, Cuanalo Santos recognized the need to work on mechanisms for the operation of this mode of transportation.
“I hope we’ll have a resolution to what’s going to happen in a month, but there’s a lack of regulation in this regard. What the company has told me is that we’re not the only entity experiencing this problem.”
