Nearshoring Summit highlights Querétaro

The Governor of Querétaro, Mauricio Kuri González, had a prominent role in the Nearshoring Mexico Summit, focusing on the strengths of the state. Within the panel “USMCA: Trigger of Change”, he shared how Querétaro positions itself as an optimal place for investment, thanks to its stability, skilled labor and support for education.

This approach is part of the economic development strategy of the region, seeking to capitalize on the relocation of suppliers.

As a former senator, Kuri recalled his participation in the signing of the USMCA, a treaty that has been a catalyst for new opportunities. He highlighted the efforts of his administration to attract investment, mentioning 52 future projects that add up to more than 55 billion pesos, coming from different parts of the world.

Challenges and Opportunities in Querétaro

Despite the current challenges, such as water and energy management, Querétaro advances thanks to a close collaboration with the Government of Mexico. This joint work has allowed to develop key initiatives to ensure the future of the state.

The event was attended by important figures, including business and diplomatic leaders, who recognized Querétaro as a success story in attracting investments. This positive perception is shared by the Canadian ambassador in Mexico, who underlined the role of Querétaro within the framework of the USMCA and anticipated future negotiations of the treaty after elections in Mexico and the United States.
