Minutes before 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday, the 52 residents of Querétaro stranded amidst the conflict in the Middle East arrived at the Querétaro International Airport (AIQ).
The Secretary of Tourism, Adriana Vega Vázquez Mellado; the Secretary of Sustainable Development, Marco del Prete; and the Secretary of Government, Eric Gudiño Torres, were present to welcome them.
They were greeted with applause, music, and a Lelé doll by authorities and family members. Special thanks will be given to Eric Gudiño for his efforts in facilitating their return.

David García recounted that his stay in Dubai was filled with uncertainty due to the constant missile strikes in nearby areas, including the airport. “We could hear the missiles intercepting the drones. But what we were waiting for was to be told when we could be evacuated.”
Therefore, he acknowledged that there were moments when their lives were in danger, as some people even panicked due to the impact of the situation. “We couldn’t leave by land because the closest place was Oman, which was a six-hour journey, and we would have had to cross the desert. They also couldn’t guarantee that we could fly through Oman.”
