Winter continues to leave extreme temperatures in Querétaro, mainly in high and mountain areas, where municipalities such as Pinal de Amoles, Amealco, and areas of the Sierra Gorda have registered frost, frost, and values close to or below zero degrees.

Extreme winter in Querétaro: these are the coldest municipalities

During the morning of January 31, 2026, the Cuatro Palos Viewpoint, located in the municipality of Pinal de Amoles, presented one of the lowest records of the season.

The low temperatures caused the formation of frost, covering vegetation and trails in this tourist area of the Sierra Gorda.

Pinal de Amoles and Amealco are the most affected

In addition to Pinal de Amoles, the municipality of Amealco de Bonfil has also registered significant drops in temperature, especially in rural communities and higher altitude areas, where morning frosts are frequent during the winter season.
