The Secretary of Tourism for the municipality of Querétaro, Mariana Ortiz Cabrera, announced the “Paseo x Querétaro” campaign, which offers a series of discounts at hotels, tour operators, and businesses in Querétaro upon presentation of a voter ID card (INE) with an address in the city of Querétaro.
“By presenting your Querétaro voter ID card at hotels, tour operators, and businesses in the Historic Center, you will receive very special promotions for this season, which run until March 31st.”
The initiative arose because 43% of visitors to the city of Querétaro stayed with family members during their time in the municipality; Therefore, the goal is to allow those visiting families in the state capital to access discounts at select establishments.
Twenty-three hotels, part of the Querétaro Hotel Association, are participating, offering discounts of between 10% and 15% on lodging and amenities. The Querétaro Tour Operators Association is joining this campaign, with eight companies offering a 20% discount.
Some businesses in the Historic Center will also be offering promotions, which can be accessed via QR codes placed at strategic points in the city’s main square. This campaign also aims to encourage residents of the municipality to visit the city’s attractions, stay in hotels, book tours, and enjoy new experiences.
Throughout the year, 350,000 tourists are expected in the state capital, generating an estimated economic impact of 1.75 billion pesos.
