The Second International Congress on Aerospace Innovation (INAE), organized by the Aeronautical University of Querétaro (UNAQ), opened its activities with a focus on technological projects and talent development for the INAE, UNAQ, and aerospace sectors. At the opening ceremony, Marco Antonio Del Prete Tercero, head of the Secretariat of Sustainable Development (Sedesu) in Querétaro, noted that innovation in the state has driven the transition of sectors such as household appliances and automotive to a more specialized aerospace platform.
Innovation and the Aerospace Chain
“INAE is a meeting point for researchers, entrepreneurs, students, and industry leaders to explore the frontiers of technology, share ideas, and collaborate on solutions that transform the future of space and aeronautics,” stated Del Prete. He added that the new frontier is in space and that efforts are underway to ensure that the Querétaro International Airport (AIQ) functions as a spaceport, attracting new industries.
Talent and Certification at UNAQ
UNAQ Rector Enrique Sosa Gutiérrez emphasized that the institution is promoting the transition toward more sustainable aviation and called on young people to prepare for technological development projects. “In an environment with real-time information available, certification strengthens capabilities and opens up opportunities in the industry,” he stated.
The official message highlighted the importance of academic-industry collaboration to integrate collaborative solutions, manufacturing, sustainable aviation fuels, and systems related to aeronautics and space. INAE is intended as a platform for coordinating projects, sharing technical knowledge, and strengthening competencies aligned with industry standards.
During the opening ceremony, the role of anchor companies in local aerospace development was highlighted, as well as the evolution of the ecosystem toward processes with greater engineering content. The conference agenda favors exchanges between specialists and students to accelerate the adoption of technologies and certification methods.
The proposal to convert AIQ into a spaceport seeks to enable capabilities associated with new lines of business and greater integration of talent. UNAQ’s organization of INAE positions Querétaro as an academic and industrial hub for discussing trends and developing technical profiles tailored to the sector’s needs.
