During the last year (2024-2025), meeting tourism generated an economic impact of 517 million pesos in the state, according to data from the state’s Tourism Secretariat, corresponding to the fourth year of the administration.
This impact is linked to the activities and events hosted by the Querétaro Convention Center (QCC) and the Metropolitan Theater.
Last year, both venues received 413,000 attendees, reflecting an 11% increase over the previous period, stated Querétaro Tourism Secretary Adriana Vega Vázquez Mellado.
During the reporting period, 213 events took place, representing a 7% increase compared to the previous period.
These events generated direct revenue of 39 million pesos for the venues, but represented a total of 517 million pesos statewide.
“We have 213 events held, with a 7% increase, 413,000 attendees in this period, an 11% increase compared to the previous period, with an economic impact of 517 million pesos,” he stated.
According to the Secretariat’s Congresses and Conventions Office (OCC), the state won 20 bids for large events, representing a 42% increase.
“We have already won 20 bids, a 42% increase compared to the previous period; 195 groups and conventions attended, which represents a 37% increase compared to the previous period,” he stated.
State Representation at Events
In parallel with the meeting events held in the state, last year Querétaro participated in 403 local, national, and international events, which translated into an annual 77% increase in capacity.
Specifically, 338 were local events that generated an economic impact of 1.771 billion pesos.
Among the local events, he listed Querétaro as the host of the Friendship Tournament, the Day of the Dead festival, and other activities related to the December holidays.
Regarding national events, he mentioned the Tijuana Tourist Market and the state’s intervention in the Punto México event of the Federal Ministry of Tourism in Mexico City.
Regarding international activities, the state was present at the International Tourism Fair (Fitur) 2025 in Madrid, Spain; as well as Querétaro Week at the Casa de México Foundation, also in Madrid, among other events.
