During this Thursday’s morning press conference, the American company CloudHQ announced that it will build a campus of six data centers in Querétaro, with an estimated investment of $4.8 billion.
The announcement was made by Keith Harney, the company’s Chief Operating Officer, who emphasized that the project will strengthen Mexico’s position in the digital economy.
The complex will have a capacity of up to 600 megawatts of critical computing workload and will include a 900 MW private substation, as well as a 2 GW switching substation to support the regional grid and the campus itself, with operations scheduled for the second quarter of 2027.
For his part, Economy Secretary Marcelo Ebrard emphasized that this investment has “very significant implications for Mexico” and pointed to the creation of 7,200 jobs.
“Virtually all of the services in our daily lives will be connected to data centers,” the official said.
