During the 2025 progress, 36 private investment projects have been completed in Querétaro, representing 14 billion pesos and the creation of 7,000 jobs, confirmed the Secretary of Sustainable Development (Sedesu), Marco Antonio Del Prete Tercero.

The number of completed investments, as of August 29, represents a 68% increase compared to the 53 projects that were consolidated throughout 2024. Therefore, he stated, this year’s investments are progressing at a similar pace to the previous year.

“We are working on 36 investment projects, on the same pace (as in 2024), a little ahead of what they could represent. Last year there were 53 projects, and now we are working on 36, which is a little over 50%,” he expressed.

Among this year’s investments, he said, many are expansions of production centers dedicated to the automotive, aerospace, metalworking, and general manufacturing industries.

The three dozen investments include capital from Mexico, the United States, Germany, and other countries.

In addition to the finalized investments, the state government has a portfolio of 53 investment proposals. These are projects that have not yet materialized, but are interested in establishing in the state. If realized, they collectively represent nearly $80 billion and the creation of 14,000 jobs.

The majority of the projects in the portfolio (31) are new investments, and the rest (22) are expansions of companies already present in the state.

Tour in the United States and Canada is being prepared

With the aim of promoting the state economically, the state government is preparing a tour of Canada and the United States in October, the head of Sedesu announced.

As part of the meeting held this Friday by state officials with Amazon Web Services (AWS) executives, Governor Mauricio Kuri González was invited to Washington to discuss the company’s plans. This activity will therefore be part of the October agenda.

“Amazon executives have just invited us to come to Washington to see how we can strengthen not only our relationship with them, but also with companies that have headquarters in Washington. Let’s remember that Washington is a national headquarters for corporations in the United States, so we should take advantage of the opportunity to meet not only with Amazon, but with various organizations,” stated the Secretary of Sustainable Development.

The purpose of the upcoming meeting with Amazon executives is to strengthen the relationship and analyze projects aimed at promoting training in digitization and digital transformation for small businesses.

Mauricio Kuri, the head of Sedesu, added, also received an invitation to give a conference in Toronto, Canada, also in October.

Regarding the tour they conducted last week in New York (August 20-23), the state secretary explained that they met with various investment funds to promote the state.

In this regard, he emphasized that the relocation trend remains active, in addition to the interest of industrial companies in establishing projects in the state.

“The industrial sector is receiving a lot of interest; there are many fibers or many companies interested in industrial development, to continue attracting nearshoring. Nearshoring hasn’t ended; it keeps coming,” he stated.

On the recent tour, they met with representatives of 20 companies, as well as members of the Council of the Americas (COA) business organization.
