Safran expanded the capabilities of its Querétaro center to include landing gear programs for long-range aircraft such as the Airbus A330 Enhanced, A330neo, and Boeing 787.

The recent expansion added 6,000 square meters of workshop space, a move that will significantly increase operational capacity and support the projected growth of these programs.

“This gradual expansion into the long-range aircraft segment, combined with the overall increase in MRO capacity, demonstrates Safran Landing Systems’ ability to keep pace with the aerospace market’s transformation, strengthen customer proximity, and solidify its position as a long-term strategic partner for operators across the Americas,” the French company explained in a statement.

Querétaro is one of three global centers Safran operates to meet the demand for maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services for long-range aircraft; the other two are located in Molsheim (Europe) and Singapore (Asia).

“Located in the heart of the Americas, the Querétaro center embodies the dynamic growth of Safran Landing Systems’ MRO network,” the company noted regarding the Mexican facility.

The facility opened in 2010 with a workforce of 80 employees; today, that figure stands at 375.

Through the extensive integration of technical and inspection operations, the Querétaro center manages the entire major overhaul cycle for landing gear, ensuring “high levels of quality, flexibility, and responsiveness.”

The expansion was completed in 2025, positioning Querétaro as a “key player” for single-aisle fleets—such as the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 NG and 737 MAX—as well as for long-range aircraft, including the Airbus A330 and Boeing 787.
