Luisa María N., the alleged leader of a Colombian gang dedicated to residential burglaries in the state of Chiapas, was arrested in the city of Querétaro. She is linked to their most recent robbery, which occurred last May at a home owned by a businessman in an exclusive gated community in Tuxtla Gutiérrez.
According to information from the investigation file opened by the Chiapas Attorney General’s Office, Luisa María, along with Román and Guillermo, were positively identified as having allegedly committed an armed robbery at a residence in the exclusive Club Campestre El Arenal gated community in Tuxtla Gutiérrez on May 2, 2026. They stole more than 300,000 pesos worth of high-value jewelry, as well as a large sum of cash. The victim is reportedly a well-known businessman and close associate of the Attorney General of Chiapas.
“There, the victim—whose identity I would like to withhold, but who is someone I care about deeply—reported the theft of jewelry and cash, more than 300,000 pesos. An investigation was carried out, and we were able to identify the perpetrators through security camera footage. We have identified four individuals; three have already been arrested in Querétaro: two men and one woman. Two of them are Colombian nationals, and one is Mexican,” stated Jorge Luis Llaven, Attorney General of Chiapas.
After the victim reported the theft from their home, a large-scale security operation was launched with support from the Tuxtla police and agents from the Chiapas Attorney General’s Office’s Ministerial Investigation and Intelligence Agency. This operation gathered information, clues, and video evidence from private security cameras, resulting in descriptions of four individuals—three men and one woman—who were tracked down after fleeing in a vehicle toward central Mexico. This information was then shared with other Attorney General’s Offices and security agencies.
Between May 31 and June 1, the vehicle was detected circulating in Querétaro territory. This information was shared with the Querétaro Prosecutor’s Office, and an operation was launched in the city of Querétaro. The operation resulted in the arrest of the three occupants: Román N, a Mexican national; Guillermo N and Luisa María N, both Colombian nationals; and Luisa María N, identified as the alleged leader of the criminal gang. However, the fourth possible suspect was not with them, so the search continued in collaboration between authorities from both states.
Upon receiving information about the arrest of the three members of said gang, the judicial authority of Chiapas was notified, and the transfer of Luisa María and the other two individuals was coordinated to be taken before the initial hearing so that their legal status could be determined for the crime of aggravated robbery with violence, and they are still in the investigation stage to find the whereabouts of the fourth possible accomplice, as well as the whereabouts of the stolen clothing.
