The Governor highlighted that the reform places Querétaro “at the forefront” with a unique and modern model that seeks to strengthen public trust in the justice system through technical and autonomous selection mechanisms.
Querétaro Governor Mauricio Kuri González asserted that the state has taken “a historic step” with the publication of the Judicial Branch Reform, which adds to and repeals various provisions of the State Political Constitution.
In a message shared on his official social media channels, the state leader affirmed that the reform will serve to strengthen the confidence of Querétaro families in justice institutions, while also consolidating a “ modern and responsible” model.
“In Querétaro, we want the very best judges—honest, well-prepared men and women with experience and an unblemished public reputation,” he stated.
Kuri González noted that the reform not only complies with the provisions of the Constitution but also incorporates technical and autonomous selection mechanisms to ensure that individuals of the highest caliber serve the public.
“It is not enough for them simply to be elected; they must be the best. That is why we have championed technical and autonomous selection mechanisms—to guarantee that those serving the public are individuals of excellence,” he emphasized.
Furthermore, he announced that the reform includes provisions to strengthen tools such as mediation and arbitration, with the aim of building a justice system that is more accessible, swift, and humane for the people of Querétaro.
The head of the Executive Branch expressed his gratitude to legislators from across the political spectrum, as well as to the Judicial Branch and all those who contributed to crafting the reform through dialogue and consensus-building.
“When it comes to safeguarding Querétaro and protecting our families, it is indeed possible to forge solid agreements,” he maintained.
Finally, Mauricio Kuri reiterated that Querétaro will continue to prioritize strong, trustworthy institutions and a world-class judicial system capable of effectively meeting the needs of its citizens.
