A car accident on the Querétaro-San Luis Potosí highway involved at least four vehicles, including trailers that caught fire after a multiple collision.

San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato.- A spectacular carom, in which at least four vehicles were involved, some of them pressed and burned by a fire, was recorded this Friday afternoon in the vicinity of the Querétaro-San Luis Potosí highway, near the junction to San Miguel de Allende.

Despite the incident and the magnitude of the mishap, no injuries were reported, since, fortunately, the crew members of the units managed to get out before the fire started.

Preliminarily, the lack of signage in an area of patching works, in the section between the Querétaro Industrial Park and the bridge of the deviation to the highway to San Miguel de Allende, would have caused the multiple collision between the units.

Among the vehicles involved was a trailer with a platform for the transfer of tubular steel material, as well as another trailer with a trailer for the transport of containers.

These two heavy cargo units collided with each other and, after the impact, at least two other vehicles, including a pickup truck and a sedan-type car, were crushed and later set on fire.

State and municipal Civil Protection personnel, Querétaro Firefighters, municipal Public Services with the support of water pipes, as well as elements of the National Guard were immediately mobilized.

Firefighters immediately began cooling work, mainly in the unit that was transporting steel. Likewise, some motorists who arrived before the emergency bodies managed to free the operator of the container trailer, who had been pressed in the cabin, but was rescued alive.

At the scene, paramedics evaluated at least 20 people, who had a nervous breakdown derived from the accident.

Elements of the National Guard closed traffic in the central lanes of this section, in the direction of the capital of Querétaro, in support of the work of the emergency services.
