Felipe Fernando Macías Olvera, mayor of the municipality of Querétaro, reported that 105 homes have been affected by flooding this rainy season.

“The total number of homes affected by flooding this rainy season is 105 homes, which were flooded during the various events we’ve had with the heaviest rainfall, and all the homes are perfectly registered,” he stated.

The damage, Macías emphasized, is due to the intense rainfall this season, which, according to the mayor, is the heaviest in the last 15 years, not only in the state of Querétaro but in the entire country.
He said that the storm that occurred on Friday, July 11, alone, caused the same amount of rain as in 10 days.

Despite the material damage to homes, the mayor of Querétaro stated that no one was killed or injured and that the damage to homes and vehicles was immediately addressed.

He assured that 50 percent of the homes have property insurance, which allows them to access compensation of up to 50,000 pesos for damages.

For those without this coverage, he stated that the municipal government is managing support to cover expenses for lost personal property and repairs to vehicles damaged by potholes or other damages resulting from the torrential rains.

Felipe Fernando Macías Olvera, alcalde del municipio de Querétaro, informó que en la presente temporada de lluvia se han contabilizado 105 viviendas afectadas tras haberse inundado.
