Romero Altamirano, Secretary of Urban Development for the municipality of Querétaro, has announced three strategic projects set to begin in 2025. These initiatives focus on the regularization of settlements and constructions, as well as the planning for the arrival of the Mexico-Querétaro Train station.
The first project aims to provide legal certainty to residents of irregular settlements, allowing them to obtain deeds certifying home ownership. This program targets settlements that are at least 12 years old and have legally possessed land. It includes the regularization of family properties, which are large plots divided for sale or transfer to relatives.
The second initiative focuses on the regularization of unlicensed constructions. This will enable owners to obtain completion permits, operating licenses, accurate appraisals, and carry out legal transactions. Fines for omissions in initial permits will be waived, and interested parties can participate until September 2027.
Mexico-Querétaro Train Station
The third project involves preparing for the future Mexico-Querétaro Train station. The municipality is conducting a comprehensive analysis of the economic, social, and infrastructure impacts of this federal project. The goal is for surrounding neighborhoods to benefit by providing products and services.
These projects, which will be presented to the city council for approval, aim to promote orderly and equitable urban development in Querétaro, improving citizens’ quality of life and fostering sustainable growth.
