During the month of July, the state concentrated 14% of investment announcements, placing itself in first place nationwide, according to the Ministry of Economy.
The state announced an investment expectation of 6,886 million dollars with a generation of 8,264 jobs, representing 11 percent of the country’s total.
The federal agency reported that from January 1 to July 31, 2024, 166 public announcements were made by the private sector with an investment of 48,035 million dollars for the next two or three years. With a generation of jobs with 75,481 new direct jobs.
The second place in investment at the national level is the State of Mexico with 4,692 million dollars, and Nuevo León with 4,159 dollars.
Querétaro doubles its industrial market
By sector, manufacturing accounted for 53% of investment expectations, trade for 14% of expectations, and transportation for 11%. Meanwhile, industry accounts for 42% of employment expectations with 31,832 new direct jobs.
Among the investments that stood out at the national level, there is that of Mars Petcare in Querétaro, which comes from the United States with 196 million dollars; which represents 8% of the total national investment.
Meanwhile, Harman’s investment represented an investment of 115 million dollars for the manufacturing sector, which comes from South Korea, which represents 5%.
And they highlight that 74% of the announced investment is concentrated in 15 states with 54,808 jobs.
It also highlights that 81% of the total announcements come from 7 of the countries with the most investment in the country, as of the first quarter of 2024.
“The entry of China, France and Portugal is observed among the main countries interested in investing in Mexico, especially in the automotive, natural gas and fertilizer sectors,” they point out in the statement.
