With the annual growth that AIQ had in the movement of international passengers, in June it was placed in ninth place in the top 10 of the airports with the most user transfers on international flights, concentrating 1.2% of international passengers.
Querétaro, Qro. During the first half of the year, 933,510 passengers were transported at the Querétaro International Airport (AIQ), a figure that represented an annual growth of 23% compared to the 758,892 travelers in the first half of 2023, according to records from the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT).
The most significant annual variation was recorded in the transfer of international passengers, accumulating 313,832 travelers, which meant a growth of 60.3% compared to the 195,836 passengers in the first half of 2023.
Also in the first half of 2024, AIQ mobilized 619,678 national passengers, which registered a growth of 10.1% compared to the 563,056 passengers of a year ago.
Given the increase in the flow of international travelers, it has increased its market share; between the first half of 2023 and the same period in 2024, it went from representing 25.8 to 33.6% of the total volume of travelers.
Meanwhile, domestic passengers went from representing 74.2% of users in the first half of 2023 to 66.4% of users in the first half of 2024.
June has been the best month of 2024 so far, moving a total of 171,427 passengers; in the year-to-date, the monthly average was around 155,585 users.
In June of this year alone, the annual growth was 21.5% in the total movement of travelers, climbing from 141,108 to 171,427 people; in domestic travelers the increase was 7.8%, going from 106,169 to 114,458 users; and in the international category the variation was 63.1%, going from 34,939 to 56,969 users.
Ninth in international passengers
With the annual growth that AIQ had in the movement of international passengers, in June it was placed in ninth place in the top 10 of the airports with the most user transfers on international flights, concentrating 1.2% of international passengers.
The list includes the airports of Cancun (concentrated 32.7% of the international flow), Mexico City (28%), Guadalajara (9.8%), San Jose del Cabo (8.2%), Puerto Vallarta (5.1%), Monterrey (3.7%), Del Bajio (1.8%), Tulum (1.8%), Queretaro and Morelia (1.1%).
At a national level, the number of international travelers registered an annual growth of 5.5% in June, while in the accumulated figure for the first half of the year the annual variation was 8.8 percent.
