The State Water Commission (CEA) reported that a leak occurred in the Acueducto II distribution system in Querétaro, which caused the suspension of the supply of drinking water service in various neighborhoods of the Querétaro capital and the municipality of El Marqués as well as Corregidora.
“At the time the damage was reported, CEA personnel immediately proceeded to close the water supply, in order to carry out the damage assessment,” he said.

He also added that to mitigate the impact, the agency is coordinating efforts with the municipality of Querétaro and the Executive Branch, offering support to the affected citizens by supplying water through pipes. The repair work has been maintained permanently.
“It is important to mention that during the time that the corresponding repair lasts, the CEA will put into operation the battery of wells located in the city, in addition to, in conjunction with the municipality of Querétaro,” he said.
In addition, the water support operation will be launched through pipes, for those colonies that will not be able to supply themselves through the drinking water network.
While the necessary repairs are being carried out on the Aqueduct II, the CEA made a call people to use water responsibly.
It should be noted that, in December 2022, a cable company broke the same distribution system, leaving thousands of families without water service for almost 2 weeks.
