The National Water Commission (Conagua) has issued a warning about the possible formation of whirlwinds or tornadoes in Querétaro and other states in western and central Mexico this weekend.
The National Meteorological Service of Conagua has alerted to the potential formation of whirlwinds or tornadoes on Saturday, as well as on Sunday, May 26, in Mexico.
For Saturday, states in western and central Mexico such as San Luis Potosí, Guanajuato, and Querétaro are expected to experience whirlwinds or tornadoes.
On Sunday, May 26, the same states are under alert due to the forecast of strong winds.
The wind gusts expected on Sunday in San Luis Potosí and Guanajuato range from 50 to 70 kilometers per hour.
Meanwhile, in Querétaro, wind gusts of 40 to 60 kilometers per hour are anticipated.
Despite this, various regions in Guanajuato and Querétaro are expecting maximum temperatures of 40 to 45 degrees Celsius due to the third heatwave affecting the entire country.
In San Luis Potosí, many regions are also expecting maximum temperatures exceeding 45 degrees Celsius.
