Municipal police officers take off their uniforms and dress up as Catrines and Catrinas

The Municipal Police recognized the creativity and talent of the workers who participated in the various categories

Within the framework of the Day of the Dead, the Public Security Secretariat of the Municipality of Querétaro held the Third Catrines and Catrinas Contest.

23 people from all the areas that make up the secretariat participated, in the category of “Personification of Catrina or Catrín”, through the costumes and characterization of iconic characters of Mexican culture, with Alondra Reséndiz taking first place, and Andrés López in second place. and thirdly Elena Figueroa, from the Legal and Administration departments, respectively.

While, in the “Catrina or Catrín de papel” category, the winners were Brenda Varela, from C4, with first place, and María Echeverría and Ángeles Gómez, from the Directorate of Attention to Victims of Family and Gender Violence, with the second and third place, respectively, where 24 collaborators from the different directorates of the Municipal Police participated.

When speaking, the head of the agency, Juan Luis Ferrusca Ortiz, congratulated each and every participant, recognizing their creativity, talent and personification of this Mexican tradition, because “for the culture of our country it represents the attitude of “Mexicans in the face of death, the smile, the funny poses and the colors of the clothing speak of the acceptance of this transition to a better place, and of the joy of welcoming dear souls who return for a few days.”

Finally, he added that this type of activities contributes to the integration and development of healthy competition and teamwork, thus uniting all the people who are part of the Public Security Secretariat of the Municipality of Querétaro.
