A year ago, the financial company TM Sourcing approached President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to express its interest in continuing with the Bajío Train project.

León.- The vision is for Mexico to become a country connected by train tracks to be able to travel quickly and safely between cities. There are already several projects in development and some that are only being discussed, among them is the Bajío Train that will connect León with Mexico City and Querétaro.

The Bajío Train project was first proposed in 2014 when Enrique Peña Nieto was president, but was stopped when the Chinese company that was going to be in charge of its construction (China Railway Construction Company) was involved in the White House scandal.

It was until a year ago when the financial company TM Sourcing approached President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to express its interest in continuing with the Bajío Train project.

If it comes to completion, Mexicans could travel in less than 3 hours from León to Mexico City and in much less time to Querétaro, but there is more. The Bajío Train would pass through Jalisco, Guanajuato, Querétaro, Hidalgo, State of Mexico and of course, Mexico City.

In the case of Jalisco it would pass through Lagos de Moreno; in Guanajuato it would pass through the municipalities of León, Silao, Irapuato, Salamanca and Celaya; in the case of Querétaro it would pass through the capital city and San Juan del Río; in Hidalgo through Tula; and in the State of Mexico through Huehuetoca and Cuautitlán.

To the airport by train

No more taking planes, buses and the subway. The Bajío Train would be arriving at the Felipe Ángeles International Airport, so it will no longer be necessary for travelers traveling by truck to take a taxi to the airport, or the metro. Just wait for the next train.
