In order to continue promoting the reactivation of the local economy, “Las Diligencias” were presented, electric vehicles replica of the Ford T 1908 model, which will offer visitors a tour of tourist spots in the Historic Center.
This new tourism promotion scheme was launched by the Municipality of Querétaro, in coordination with the Cooperativa Turismo las Diligencias.
Alejandra Iturbe Rosas, secretary of Municipal Tourism, reported that the Stagecoaches begin operations with seven vehicles that take visitors back to the beginning of the 20th century.
The vehicles have the capacity to transport from five to eight passengers, so it is expected to serve up to 960 tourists per day, although it is expected that by the end of the first half of 2022 there will already be a total of 24 proceedings.
“The project of the proceedings was born as an initiative of a group of Queretaro businessmen with experience in the tourism sector, organized in a cooperative who, under the supervision and accompaniment of this Municipal administration, devise this innovative, attractive and avant-garde tourism product that is also responsible with the environment and respectful of the image and care of our Historic Center “he commented.
The Secretary of Tourism explained that the drivers are trained in the management of the unit and in the historical narrative, managing to offer a great experience for the tourist.
There will be three circuits with an approximate duration of 45 and 60 minutes and which are: “For tongues and bells”, focused on the Viceregal era; “Adiós mama Carlota”, which focuses on the time of the Second Empire; and “A Treasure turned into water”, which will reveal the history of our Aqueduct.

In the press conference held on the esplanade of the Old Railway Station, the Municipal Tourism Secretary also presented the second stage of tourist routes, called Querétaro City Tourist Circuits, where through the Association of Tour Operators of Querétaro and the Association of Tourist Guides of the State of Querétaro, 6 tourist circuits will be marketed that are: Fusion Gastronomy, Neighborhood Gastronomy, Tradition and Cantinas, The Foundation, The Second Empire and the Restoration, and that will tour the heart of the city in vehicles and short walks, which include the informative tour, culinary experiences and transportation to go through these circuits.
