The mayor of San Juan del Río, Roberto Cabrera Valencia, commented that he will seek to meet with the personnel working on the Mexico-Querétaro train project regarding the runoff of materials that occurred last Saturday, April 11, in the area of Avenida Tecnológico.

Following the heavy rains last weekend, construction materials used for the station’s construction in this municipality washed down onto the aforementioned roadway.

Therefore, the mayor indicated that he will seek a meeting to review what actions could be implemented to prevent this spill, which could cause blockages on this avenue.

“Municipal Public Services responded quickly; due to the work on the Mexico-Querétaro train station, there was a significant landslide, with a lot of rock and tepetate (a type of volcanic soil) coming down, which is related to the project. We are going to approach them to see if they can help us,” commented Cabrera Valencia.

Cabrera Valencia stated that, immediately after the report of the material scattered on the asphalt, the Municipal Public Services Department went to clean the roadway to prevent any negative consequences.

Regarding the aftermath of this weekend’s rains, the mayor reported that water entered one home, but the house was not damaged, and that a tree fell in Lomas de San Juan.
