In addition to showcasing the state’s gastronomy, the Querétaro Festival at Los Pinos will feature crafts and free huapango performances.
If you can’t go to Querétaro, Querétaro will come to you. As part of the Querétaro Festival at Los Pinos, you can enjoy the best of Querétaro’s culture, gastronomy, and art throughout the weekend. Traditional gorditas made with cracked corn will be one of the main attractions of this event, where you can also sample barbacoa and mole, find regional products, and dance to the rhythm of huapango.
Visitors can also take home beautiful handicrafts and even learn how to make a traditional Lele Doll.
The Ministries of Culture of the Mexican Government and the State of Querétaro are promoting this festival, which will also include book presentations, documentary screenings, and other cultural activities.
“For Querétaro, it is an honor to share the rich cultural, artistic, artisanal, and gastronomic heritage that defines us at Los Pinos,” commented Ana Paola López Birlain, the state’s Secretary of Culture, at a press conference.
She also announced that the Querétaro at Los Pinos Festival will bring diverse expressions of music, crafts, dance, theater, and culinary culture to Mexico City.
When and where will the Querétaro at Los Pinos Festival take place?
The festival will be held on Saturday, April 18, and Sunday, April 19, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The event will be held at the Los Pinos Cultural Complex, located on Calzada del Rey, in the First Section of Chapultepec Forest.
The nearest public transportation stations are Constituyentes on Metro Line 7 and Los Pinos on Cablebús Line 3.
In addition to the special food offerings at the festival, you can sample the products available every weekend at the Smoke Kitchens of the El Solar Market in Los Pinos. There will be quesadillas, aguas frescas (fruit-flavored drinks), fresh produce, and more.
Try gorditas de maíz quebrado (cracked corn gorditas) and other Querétaro cuisine.
But the most appealing aspect is that, as part of the festival, traditional cooks from Querétaro will be offering a taste of the state’s gastronomy at Los Pinos.
A must-try dish is the gorditas de maíz quebrado, distinguished by their rustic masa (corn dough). They are typically filled with requesón enchilada (a type of fresh cheese), carnitas (braised pork), or some other stew, and served with molcajete salsa.
