Costco is adding a new chapter in Mexico. The company will begin construction in March on its new store in the municipality of Corregidora, Querétaro, and plans to open its doors in November 2026.
According to reports, the construction will last approximately nine months and is part of the brand’s growth plan for this year, which includes opening four new locations in the country.
Municipal authorities announced that the sales floor will have an area of nearly 8,000 square meters, making it one of the largest Costco stores in Mexico.
The complex will include a parking lot with a capacity for 750 vehicles, a Costco gas station, and a large food court. The planned location is on the Corregidora-Huimilpan highway.
The mayor, Josué David Guerrero Trápala, confirmed that the groundbreaking ceremony will take place in March and highlighted the economic impact the company’s arrival will have, both in terms of job creation and attracting new investment.
The company announced that a new sales model would be tested at this branch. This possibility has sparked speculation among members and regular customers of the chain, who are eager to learn what changes the company might implement during this growth phase.
For those wondering, this new Costco branch is due to the residential growth that the municipality of Corregidora in Querétaro has experienced in recent years.
In this regard, the Costco membership costs in Querétaro for 2025-2026 are:
Gold and Business for $600 pesos (personal or business use),
Gold or Business for $1,200 pesos, which includes a 2% annual reward. All options include a complimentary membership at no additional cost.
Meanwhile, gasoline prices in the area are competitive, further fueling anticipation for the new branch.
