The Querétaro International Livestock Fair (FIGQ) welcomed over 65,000 visitors during its opening weekend. Attendees enjoyed performances at the Teatro del Pueblo (People’s Theater), the palenque (cockfighting arena), the circus, and Illusion On Ice, as well as amusement rides and family-friendly areas. This translates to an average of over 21,000 visitors per day.
With the participation of more than 1,500 security personnel from various sectors, visitors found a safe environment to enjoy free shows and events. As a result, the first weekend passed without incident at the Ecocentro Expositor (Exhibition Center).
Furthermore, an even larger turnout is expected this week, given the lineup for the Teatro del Pueblo and the palenque, which will feature performances by Christian Nodal, Alejandro Fernández, Banda MS, Steve Aoki, La Arrolladora, and Grupo Frontera. VIP, gold, and silver tickets for the palenque will be released soon, according to the FIGQ’s official ticketing office.
Meanwhile, at the livestock show this past weekend, Miranda Sofía Aguas, representing the municipality of Pinal de Amoles, was chosen as the “Most Beautiful Flower of the Querétaro Countryside.” The state cheese competition and the children’s livestock handling competition also took place. This week will feature awards for goats, the Holstein cattle show, and the regional horse show.
The Health Department, along with the Directorate of Protection Against Sanitary Risks, continues its constant monitoring of food vendors to ensure visitors can enjoy food that is properly handled, stored, and fresh.
