Vega Ricoy emphasized that this initiative has involved more than a year and a half of technical and social work, with appearances before legislators and meetings with citizens, which has allowed for an inclusive process open to diverse voices.
“El Batán is a noble and necessary project for Querétaro. It seeks to guarantee sufficient, quality water for the people of Querétaro, with significant benefits for the population,” the official stated.
The head of the CEA specified that, although the Water Advisory Council has not presented a formal document beyond its public statement, the Commission remains fully confident about the project’s viability and benefits.
Currently, the proposal is awaiting the evolution of the legislative process, so a reconsideration is not considered at this stage.
Finally, Vega Ricoy emphasized that Querétaro requires urgent and sustainable water solutions, and that El Batán represents a key element in addressing that need.
