Querétaro state’s dams are at almost 90 percent of their storage capacity, a result of the rainy season. A total of 13 dams in the state are already at 100 percent capacity and are releasing water as a preventative measure to avoid any risks.
Likewise, 11 more dams are above 50 percent of their storage capacity. The Secretary of Agricultural Development, Rosendo Anaya Aguilar, confirmed that according to forecasts from the National Water Commission (Conagua), rain will continue throughout this month and September throughout the country, and therefore, in Querétaro.
He emphasized that the rainfall has, so far, generated more benefits than impacts for the Querétaro agricultural sector.
