On May 31st, the Reverdecer Querétaro program will begin, a municipal reforestation campaign led by the Querétaro Municipal Environment Secretariat. This program seeks to restore the city’s natural environments and promote citizen participation in reforestation and environmental protection, as reported by María Guadalupe Espinosa, head of the Secretariat.

According to the official, the first areas to be addressed will be the Félix Osores Sotomayor, Epigmenio González, and Felipe Carrillo Puerto boroughs. Tree planting is planned to begin in various neighborhoods, including Viñedos, Rancho San Pedro, San Pedro Mártir, and Peñuelas, among others.

In addition, as part of this strategy, the Environment Secretariat will provide technical support to citizens who wish to join the reforestation efforts in their neighborhoods. This support includes advice on appropriate planting processes, the most suitable species for each area, and specific locations where it is feasible to plant trees, all with the goal of ensuring their development and survival.
