The Ministry of Labor, headed by Liliana San Martín Castillo, in coordination with the Querétaro State Institute of Sports and Recreation (INDEREQ), held the first Workers’ Race as part of Labor Day activities, with the participation of nearly 700 people.

During the awards ceremony, the head of the Ministry of Labor noted that this athletic competition was part of Workers’ Week, with the goal of promoting sports among union organizations, workers, and employers, and thus fostering a healthier culture.

“This is our third day of activities dedicated to workers, and I am very pleased that it is taking place in this space, which allows for healthy coexistence in a family environment. Without a doubt, sports contribute to building better work environments,” said Liliana San Martín Castillo.

For her part, Iridia Salazar Blanco, general director of INDEREQ, congratulated the runners and their families and emphasized the importance of including regular exercise in their daily routines.

The race took place on the Querétaro 2000 Park athletics track and included the women’s and men’s categories, covering distances of 2.5 and 5 kilometers. In addition to the competition, a warm-up session was offered and social areas were set up for attendees.
