Thousands of Querétaro residents gathered this Good Friday in churches, streets, and plazas in the Historic Center and various neighborhoods to participate in the traditional Stations of the Cross, commemorating with faith and devotion the passion and death of Jesus Christ. From early in the morning, entire families, young people, and seniors gathered to join the performances, which included Bible readings, prayer, and reenactments of the stations that narrate Jesus’ journey to Calvary.
At locations such as the Plaza de Armas, the Temple of La Cruz, and parishes in traditional neighborhoods, a significant turnout of worship was reported, exceeding 12,000 attendees during the main activities. Municipal and civil protection authorities implemented operations to protect attendees and facilitate the processions, which took place in an orderly manner, in an atmosphere of respect, contemplation, and reflection. With this expression of faith, Querétaro keeps its religious traditions alive on one of the most significant days of Holy Week.
