The state is seeking to host two international events of UN Tourism, the United Nations Agency specializing in tourism.
Representatives of the state government formally presented the state’s candidacy to host the Meeting of Affiliate Members of the Americas and the Regional Forum on Gastronomic Tourism.
During a tour of Madrid, Spain, the governor of Querétaro, Mauricio Kuri González, met with the regional director for the Americas of UN Tourism, Gustavo Santos, to present the state as a candidate for its events.
At the meeting they also established an alliance to promote the state as an international tourist destination, as well as exchange actions, the state government reported in a statement.
