A woman was murdered and her two companions were injured – among them, her minor son whose health condition is reported as serious – after suffering an armed attack by hitmen who were traveling in a gray car, this Monday in the municipality of Pedro Escobedo, Querétaro state.

According to the Municipal Public Security and Traffic Secretariat of Pedro Escobedo, the crime was committed in the town of San Clemente.

The victim, approximately 40 years old and whose identity has not been revealed, was traveling aboard a white Versa car in which she was accompanied by an adult man who was driving the vehicle and a 16-year-old teenager, the woman’s son.

While traveling on the access road of the town, the driver of another green vehicle pulled alongside the white Versa on the right side.

According to neighbors who accidentally witnessed the attack, individuals on board the green car began shooting at the woman in the passenger seat, who died almost instantly.

Her companion who was driving the vehicle and who was also injured managed to stop the car.

After committing the crime, the hitmen fled in an unknown direction.

The man and the teenager were taken to the General Hospital of San Juan del Río to be treated for the injuries they suffered during the attack.

The 16-year-old was the victim’s son and is in serious condition.

At the scene where the attack took place, 9-millimeter caliber gun barrels were found. In the Versa car there were at least 10 bullet holes embedded in the bodywork.
