Querétaro will host the 2025 National Bicycle Forum

The state of Querétaro has been chosen as the venue for the 2025 National Bicycle Forum, which will take place from April 2 to 6, after being elected during the General Assembly of the recent National Bicycle Forum held in Mérida, Yucatán, as indicated by Agustín Osornio Soto, representative of the Civil Association Saca la Bici.

The first National Bicycle Forum was held in Mérida from June 20 to 23, with more than 70 activities that included workshops, presentations and rides. The venues for the event were the Palacio de la Música, the Gran Museo del Mundo Maya, the Universidad de las Artes de Yucatán and the central building of UADY.

Querétaro competed with Hermosillo and Oaxaca, and after two rounds of voting, it was chosen with 23 votes compared to Hermosillo’s 16 in the final round.

According to the activist, our state presents various areas of opportunity in terms of infrastructure, road safety and regulations, which will be addressed at the forum. In addition, he pointed out that the participation of around 5 thousand people is expected at the event, which will have free admission.

“For this second national bicycle forum we are openly calling on all civil society organizations, institutions, agencies and governments to join this project,” explained the activist.

During the presentation of the candidacy, each city had 10 minutes to present its proposals. Querétaro showed a video that highlighted its culture, tourist attractions, capacity to host national events and achievements in favor of bicycle mobility.

It should be remembered that the objective of the forum is to make the use of the bicycle visible, so that the number of users of this means of transport increases, as well as to make visible what is needed to achieve this objective.
