Heavy rain for 3 hours affected the southern area of Querétaro

Heavy rainfall was recorded in the southern part of the state of Querétaro, affecting mainly roads in San Juan del Río, Tequisquiapan and Amealco.

The rain began at 9:30 p.m. and intensified around 10:00 p.m., generating water currents that made it impossible for drivers to circulate on federal highway 120 at the height of the bus station in Tequisquiapan.

Through social networks it was reported that in the Hacienda Grande neighborhood, in the Magical Town of Tequisquiapan, there were affected homes, particularly on Onix Street.

In San Juan del Río, there was accumulation of water at the intersections of Paseo Central with Tecnológico, Universidad, Río Moctezuma and 4 Oriente.

Also on State Highway 300 towards Amealco, near the Vista Hermosa neighborhood, a current was generated under the low bridge of the train tracks, forcing drivers to wait for the force of the water to subside or look for an alternate route.

Through social media, the Municipal Coordination of Civil Protection in San Juan del Río reported that it is conducting tours of the city to identify points affected by the rain.

In the center of the “Tierra de Palomas” the water exceeded the level of the sidewalk and at the height of Pablo Cabrera Street it was also necessary to cut off traffic due to the increase in the water current.
