Querétaro, October 14, 2023.- Querétaro is preparing to host the 2023 edition of the National Equestrian Jumping Championship, an event that will bring together elite riders from all over Mexico.
The Viñedos del Polo facilities, in the municipality of El Marqués, will be the setting for this prestigious competition from November 22 to December 3, as announced by Paola Ortega Muñoz, marketing project leader of the state’s Ministry of Tourism (SECTUR), and the event organizers.
Representing Adriana Vega Vázquez Mellado, state Secretary of Tourism, Paola Ortega highlighted the growth of sports tourism in the entity.
“This event is not only a high-level equestrian competition, but also an opportunity to showcase Querétaro’s natural beauty and ability to host large-scale events,” she said.
A daily attendance of five thousand people is expected, with an economic impact of approximately 50 million pesos.
Access to the event at the Polo Vineyards will be free, offering a unique opportunity for fans and families of the athletes.
Juan Manuel González de Cossío, president of the Mexican Equestrian Federation, highlighted the participation of the country’s best riders in 28 categories, ranging from six-year-old children to elite professionals. More than 1,500 horses will compete on the headquarters’ nine grass tracks, each with more than 10,000 square meters.
Miguel Calzada Mercado, founder of Viñedos del Polo, emphasized that Querétaro has quality tourist facilities and services for events of this magnitude. The facilities include more than a thousand stables, 100 VIP tables and 30 spaces for exhibitors of crafts and regional products.
