There are places that you do not even know exist, they are not so famous in the state, but that we cannot stop visiting.

The state of Querétaro is one of the richest in tradition, culture and gastronomy in the country, its landscapes are worthy of photography and although many are known internationally as the Peña de Bernal, others have not yet been so exposed, but it is worth worth knowing about them.

THE PYRAMID OF EL CERRITO IN CORREGIDORA

Located in the municipality of Corregidora, El Cerrito, as its original name is, is an archaeological site located 7 km from the center of Querétaro, which dates, according to records, to the year 400 BC.

Its pre-Hispanic urban area emerges as the political and religious head of a set of outlying settlements. El Cerrito had a long permanence as a regional political and religious center, being a contemporary of Teotihuacán and Tula; today it is surrounded by housing complexes, such as Cerro Gordo, Balvanera, La Magdalena, Santa Bárbara, La Negreta and the banks of the El Pueblito river. Important place from the year 400 to 1500, of the Christian era. The peak occurs in the Classic, from the year 450 to 850 d. c.

THE HACIENDAS IN HUIMILPAN

This beautiful municipality is home to 11 haciendas Los Cues, La Galera, Santa Teresa, Lagunillas, La Trasquila, Huimilpan, El Vegil, Apapataro, La Solariega and San Pedro. In them there are stories, legends; to take a tour of these places is to live the experience of moving back several centuries

CUATRO PALOS VIEWPOINT IN PINAL DE AMOLES

Knowing this place is connecting to heaven on earth, located in one of the highest areas of the Sierra Gorda in Queretaro, the views it has will be something you will have to experience for yourself; at the top of Cerro de la Media Luna, where the oak forests meet the semi-desert and great cliffs rise from the heights.

If you like strong emotions, contact with nature and spectacular landscapes, this place is for you.

HOUSE OF CHUCHO EL ROTO IN SALDARRIAGA, EL MARQUÉS

In this property there is legend, history and magic, the house belonged to the famous Professor Corona, the owner of the extinct Educational Center Institute in downtown Querétaro and today the possessions are held by his daughter Margarita Corona.

Legend has it (although many historians and researchers question the popular voice) that Jesús Arriaga “Chucho el Roto” was a bandit who stole from the rich to give to the poor and settled in that house where he used to hide from the gendarmes. It is said that the bandit began to hire men to fix the place but when it was time to pay them he was no longer there and the laborers began to shout “pay off Arriaga the debt” hence the name of the place Saldarriaga. Another of the fantastic stories is in which it is said that Chucho and the famous Carambada had several clandestine meetings. Reality or fiction is without a doubt a place worth visiting on Camino Real de Saldarriaga street, municipality of Marqués.

THE HILL OF THE GALLOS IN AMEALCO

This place, located in the municipality of Amealco de Bonfil, is ideal for a picnic or to observe the stars at nightfall, where you can practice mountain hiking, take a walk to observe the ash and pine trees that abound in the place as well as the exotic birds that roam the wooded area. One recommendation is to dress warmly because it is usually very cold at 2,000 thousand meters of altitude.
