HUAJUAPAN, Oaxaca. The president of the Commissariat of Communal Assets of Santo Reyes Tepejillo, Pablo Bautista Villa, reported that the access to the crystal viewpoint and the ecotourism area in that community has closed since December 1 due to the Covid 19 pandemic.
He explained that the community members decided to close the tourist areas of Santos Reyes Tepejillo because there are already cases of Covid 19 in their community and they have the risk of contagion.
The president of the Commissariat indicated that for security reasons and in compliance with the health measures established in the municipality for the safety of the community’s inhabitants and visitors, the site will be closed from December 1 and will reopen until the sanitary conditions allow it.
At the last epidemiological cut of Covid 19, the Oaxaca Health Services (SSO) registered 4 accumulated cases of Covid19 in Santos Reyes Tepejillo, while in the Mixteca region there are 1,839 accumulated cases, 175 people lost their lives. The SSO reported that 371 people in the Mixteca are awaiting a result to confirm or rule out the disease.
